The Alabama Chapter of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association has been hosting an annual conference for 28 years. This year our conference will be held May 1st- 4th. An attendee can earn up to 20 contact hours and the hours are NBCC, NAADAC, EACC, Alabama social work board and Alabama board of nursing approved (nurses can earn up to 24). Our attendees are usually counselors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, EAP professionals, alcohol and drug counselors, union representatives, and many others in the mental health care profession and in the employee assistance field.

This year we have a diverse topic lineup and we will also have many regional vendors promoting their services relevant to the mental health field.

The cost of the conference is very economy friendly as our conference registration is $200 for members and $300 for non-members. For more information on becoming a member of EAPA or our Alabama EAPA Chapter please follow the join EAPA link on our website.

The conference location has been moved along the gulf coast of Alabama as tropical storms, hurricanes or attendee group size forced us to change locations. Currently our conference is held at the Phoenix West in beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama. The Phoenix West offers extraordinary views of the Gulf of Mexico and Perdido Pass that can be seen from your beach front balcony. Shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Offering only the best in Orange Beach rentals, Phoenix West has plenty to offer such as 1,2, 3 and 4 bedroom fully furnished condominiums,indoor/outdoor pools, kiddie pool, lazy river with a water slide, lighted outdoor tennis courts, hot tubs/ saunas, exercise room, barbeque grills, fully furnished kitchens, security, clothes washer/ dryer, and free wifi.

The company that manages our conference location offers a lodging package in which if you book seven nights you get two nights stay for free. Our conference usually runs Tuesday through Friday, so most attendees take advantage of this deal Brett-Robinson offers so they can make sure they get some beach and tourist time in during the week of the conference.

If an attendee does not want to stay in a 3 or 4 room condominium, they may still stay in any Brett-Robinson managed property and still be able to get the group rate or special discounts Brett-Robinson may offer. The Brett-Robinson company has many sizes of condominiums near our conference site if the 3 and 4 bedroom condos are too large for your needs. Our group number for discount lodging with Brett Robinson this year is 832333.

There are also many hotels within a mile of the conference site.
